For admission into Diploma courses, the candidate must have passed High School Leaving Certificate (10+) conducted by Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) or its equivalent conducted by a recognized Board/Council securing at least 45% in Mathematics relaxable to 40% for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Tribe communities in Mizoram. Candidates having minimum qualification for Diploma program have to go through Written Examination conducted by the Mizoram State Council for Technicall Education(MSCTE) in the month of April/May. Syllabus in the written examination consists of Mathematics, Science, English(upto 10th standard) and General Knowledge. Candidates selected in the written examination have to attend personal interview for final selection into the Diploma courses.

As per the MPECS scheme, students admitted to Diploma courses after passing Higher Secodary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examamination conducted by MBSE or any other equivalent Examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, securing 50% marks in aggregate, will be exempted from attending Engineering Science-I & II and Applied Mathematics under course. The State Council for Technical education will decide on the grant of Credit for the same to the student entering with higher qualification like 10 +. Age Limit : Applicants for Diploma copurses should not be more than 25 years of age as on the first July of the year of admission relaxable by 1(one) year for candidates who have pa ssed HSSLC (12 +) or equivalent Examination and 3 (three) years f o r candidates belonging to SC/ST. There is no age bar for sponsored candidates.

Reservation:
1. 10% of total seats of each discipline shall be reserved for departmental/sponsored candidates for direct admission on deputation/sponsored from employee under Mizoram State Government.
2. 3% of total seats of each discipline shall be reserved for physically challenged candidates from Mizoram.
